Swim It.
Live It.

Every journey is built around open water swimming at its best — coached, supported, and shaped around you. Our groups are kept deliberately small, creating a more intimate and personal experience where everyone is safe and seen. Daily distances of 2 to 4km are designed to suit every level, from those wanting a little more guidance to seasoned open water swimmers who want to move at their own pace.

Ancient wineries tucked into hillsides. Walled Venetian harbour towns. Centuries-old churches on clifftops above the sea. Dinner at tables that have fed fishermen and traders for five hundred years. The water gets you there. The culture makes it unforgettable.

Sardinia's coastline is among Europe's most spectacular — a succession of granite headlands, translucent lagoons and sand-floored coves. Its waters are consistently ranked among the clearest in the Mediterranean, making it an outstanding destination for open water swimming.

The Cyclades — Santorini, Naxos, Paros, Milos — offer some of the most photogenic and swimable waters in the entire Mediterranean. Volcanic geology creates dramatic underwater topography: caldera walls, lava flows, hot springs rising through the seabed.

Intimate by Design

Small Groups. Real Connections.

Every trip is capped at a deliberately small number of guests. Not a commercial decision — a design one. Small groups mean every swimmer is seen, every coach knows every guest, and the experience never feels like a tour.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked
Questions

  • What level of swimming ability do I need?

You should be comfortable swimming 1km in open water at your own pace. Beyond that, our swimming holidays welcome all levels — from those taking their first open water swims to experienced channel swimmers. All swims are guided, all levels are supported, and every swim is optional.

  • What does a typical day on a Swim Traveller holiday look like?

Most days begin with an early morning swim while the water is at its calmest. After breakfast we move to a new location — time for reading, resting, or a coaching session. A guided main swim takes place mid-morning, followed by lunch. Afternoons vary: sometimes a second swim, sometimes a cultural excursion ashore. Evenings are spent exploring the local area, dining at hand-picked restaurants.

  • How many guests are on each trip?

A maximum of 28 guests join each trip. This is a deliberate limit — not a commercial decision but a design one. With fewer than 30 people in the water, every swimmer is seen, every coach knows every guest, and the experience retains the intimacy of something private rather than the feeling of a tour group.

  • What is included in the price?

All accommodation (private en-suite cabins on liveaboard trips, or high-end hotel accommodation on land-based trips), all meals, all guided swims, coaching and safety support, and all logistics and transfers. Specific inclusions vary by destination — full details are listed on each trip page. International flights and travel insurance are arranged separately.

  • Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. A deposit secures your place, with the balance payable in monthly instalments leading up to the departure date. Contact us to discuss the arrangement that works for you.

  • Which Mediterranean destinations offer the best open water swimming?

Croatia's Dalmatian coast consistently offers some of Europe's most accessible and beautiful open water swimming — calm, warm, extraordinarily clear, with an island chain that provides sheltered passages in all conditions. Greece's Aegean islands offer more dramatic topography and thermal variation. Sardinia and Mallorca offer wilder, less-visited coastlines with exceptional water quality. We have designed routes across all four, and more destinations are in development.
